That day, I saw a father transporting his toddler in the front carrier basket of a motorcycle. The child had no helmet, while he himself wore one. I wondered if he wore it purely due to enforcement by lawmakers, or if his tiny, five-pound brain actually thought he was the only one who needed it.
We can only wish that luck will always be on that little girl's side. She is not only exposed to immediate danger, but is also being subjected to an ignorant attitude passed down to her like an inherited pedigree.
Most of the time, we think "it's okay" just because nothing bad has happened yet, right?
Wrong! "Convenient" is often just another way to spell "risk."
Has our overly simplified societal culture blinded us, or have we simply stopped thinking altogether? (Maybe we have forgotten that we possess the ability to think at all.)
To me, it feels like living in an upside-down "Artificial Intelligence" environment—one where we constantly tempt fate by actively ignoring the blatant dangers around us.
Look around, from our broader society right down to our very own households. Have we reflected enough on the adjustments needed to truly adapt to a modern civilization?
Here are some thoughts to ponder. Who makes the decisions when it comes to:
- Using toxic packaging in our daily lives?
- Voting for less than "noble" politicians?
- Blindly following a flawed system?
- Wasting our finite time on meaningless pursuits?
- Conforming to the wrong crowd?
This list could go on indefinitely...
