The Corporate Illusion: Beyond the "Vision & Mission"
The traditional "Vision & Mission" statement is often nothing more than a superficial philosophical claim. Many corporate leaders use it purely for self-branding, aiming to appear favorable and enlightened in front of stakeholders.
We live in a corporate world filled to the brim with fabricated facts and figures. These metrics often blind our eyes and minds, acting as a soothing insulin injection of empirical systems designed to keep us compliant and numb.
Quoting or adding yet another tired line from the "Magic of Thinking Big" concept has become a predictable norm—an unexciting cliché. Yet, leaders seem completely oblivious to the fact that many of us are inwardly chuckling at the redundancy. They routinely employ the most advantageous tools and methodologies just to prop up their own arguments, borrowing frameworks from others as if it is standard operating procedure.
When will they finally wake up? When will they truly learn to listen before speaking, learn before teaching, and empathize before demanding?
Many top executives argue they occupy their positions because they are inherently superior to others. But when we reflect deeply on reality, is this really true?
Amidst all the fabrication and optical illusions they create, it feels as though we are trapped in a system where we are actively digging our own graves just to find a reason to live.
